The clip is the prompt
Reference footage carries the direction — no prompt engineering needed to describe a camera move.
The motion belongs to the reference. The subject in the frame belongs to you.

Why Video Motion Transfer
Video Motion Transfer runs inside the Katana AI studio, so you can generate, edit, and export images without juggling separate tools or subscriptions.
Reference footage carries the direction — no prompt engineering needed to describe a camera move.
Subject photos anchor identity — faces, products and outfits survive the rebuild.
Presets and your own clips supply choreography that is proven to land on feeds.
Vertical, landscape or square — download and post with your own soundtrack.
The technique
Motion transfer used to mean mocap suits and a VFX pipeline. The reference-to-video version is simpler: a clip carries the movement, your photos carry the subject, and the engine rebuilds one around the other.
Three things move from reference to output: the camera path, the subject's motion, and the edit's timing — cuts, holds, and rhythm. The pixels do not transfer; the choreography does.
What replaces the original cast is your subject set — one to eight photos that tell the engine who or what should occupy the frame.
Transfer quality is a function of legibility: a clear, single move survives the rebuild better than dense choreography. That is why the studio caps references at fifteen seconds — inside the window where motion stays readable.
Four to fifteen seconds also happens to be the shape of a feed clip, so the constraint doubles as a format.
Identity drift is the failure mode to watch: faces softening, logos sliding, fabrics changing. The countermeasures are sharp photos, multiple angles of the same subject, and reviewing the take frame by frame before you post.
If the subject slips mid-clip, the fix is usually better source photos — not a longer instruction.
How to use Video Motion Transfer
4–15 seconds of footage — yours or a preset — sets the motion and rhythm.
1–8 images of the person, product or outfit that should appear.
Watch the rebuild, check the subjects, download the MP4.
